The City of Kirby has not issued any water tests or samples for residents. Samples must be taken by a licensed professional and are not contracted. The City of Kirby takes 6 samples 2 times a month totaling 12 samples per month on the first and third week of each month at specific points throughout our system. Our water quality is tested and all TCEQ and Edwards Aquifer guidelines are followed and reported monthly. The City of Kirby’s water quality is of the upmost importance and is closely monitored daily. In the case of an emergency in regards to water quality, The City of Kirby will issue and statement notifying our residents of any issues that may have occurred and instructions will be given.
All new water mains are thoroughly disinfected, pressure tested, and sampled before they are put into service. The City of Kirby is dedicated to providing quality water service 24-7-365. Residents will not be asked to take samples for the city. If you are asked to take samples for the city, be aware this may be a scam to solicit information. TOBACCO ORDINANCE: The City of Kirby raised the age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21 years of age effective March 1, 2019. Copies of the ordinance may be obtained at Kirby City Hall or the Police Department.
Year-Round Watering Restrictions are in effect as of October 2, 2018. Watering with an irrigation system or sprinkler is allowed any day of the week before 10:00 A.M or after 8:00 P.M.
Weather permitting, Public Works will be sweeping area 1 on Mondays starting with July 1, 2019 and ending on July 29, 2019. The dates are as follows: July 1st, July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd, and July 29th. Please refrain from parking in the street from 7:00 A.M to 3:30 P.M. on the assigned days.
