The Animal Control Department is located on 5631 Binz Engleman adjacent to the Public Works

Payments

All payments for pound fees, pick up fees, and adoption fees will be accepted by the public works
clerk at located at 5631 Binz Engleman, Monday - Friday 8:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 5:00.

Number Limitation

It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, harbor, possess, maintain or allow to be kept more
than three dogs or three cats, or a combination of such animals with the total number exceeding
three over three months old, upon or within any premises owned, occupied or under the control o
such person within the city except where specifically exempted.

Exemptions: Veterinary hospitals, pet shops, kennels, circuses, animal shelters,
and hobby breeding activities conducted on land of not less than five acres; provided,
further, that all enclosures or other kennels facilities shall be located and constructed so
as to protect adjacent property owners from noise and air pollution which may result
from such breeding activities.

Impoundment

As soon as possible after an animal has been delivered to or picked up by animal control, a record
of the impoundment of such animal will be made. The owner of the animal may be notified in
person, by telephone or by written notice left at his last known residence or animal s license tag.
The animal must be picked up within five days. The owner must present proper identification and
proof of ownership and proof of rabies vaccination along with payment of all fees, cost or charges
incurred.

Impoundment Fees
Impoundment Fees - per Animal for the 1st day $10.00
Impoundment Fee - after the 1~ day (per day) $2.00
Adoption Fee - per Animal $15.00
Quarantine Fee per Animal (10 days required) $80.00

Rabies Vaccination

It shall be unlawful for any person to own or keep any dog or cat in the City of Kirby unless such
animal is immunized against rabies by the injection of antirabic vaccine in an amount sufficient to
produce an immunity. This must be done annually and applies to such animals 4 months of age or
older.
